KCI has a long-standing relationship with PlaNet for the supply of retail internet services like:
Very-high-rate DSL (VDSL or VHDSL)is a DSL (Digital Subscriber Line) which
uses copper wire technology providing faster data transmission - up to 52
Mbit/s downstream and 16 Mbit/s upstream - than ADSL.
These faster speeds mean that VDSL is capable of supporting high bandwidth
applications such as HDTV, as well as telephone services (VoIP, voice over
IP) and general Internet access, over a single connection but VDSL does
not have the dedicated VoIP channel that ADSL2+
ethernet (fibre-optic carrier) does have. VDSL is deployed over existing
wiring which may have been or is still used for POTS (plain old telephone
system) and lower-speed ADSL (Broadband) connections.
Second-generation systems like VDSL2 will provide data rates exceeding 100
Mbit/s simultaneously in both the upstream and downstream directions. The
maximum available bit rate is only achieved if the enduser is less than
300 meters from the nearest VDSL2 capable street cabinet and performance
degrades as the loop attenuation (resistance) increases due to length of
copper line or poor quality of that line.
