IProtecht.net works by providing physically separate equally capable auto-switched network paths, called loops. A way of saying that if a network goes down it will automatically within less than a second be brought back by another separate network recovering the critical path. As many recovery paths as are deemed necessary are put in place, with a minimum of one of course.

1 KiwiX manufacturing relies on both New Zealand and foreign manufacturers and markets 24/7 via internet file-sharing for its centralised manufacturing, marketing and administration system. Its primary connection to the internet is a 20Mbps fibre-optic uncontended (CIR) service into one of KCI's datacentres backed up by a secondary 20Mbps wireless connection into another of KCI's network centres. Each network and network centre is separated geographically, separately networked with separate international routing via diverse international carriers. Should the primary connection fail anywhere in its path from KiwiX to its domestic and international client the secondary connection takes over automatically and routes traffic via a separate path.
2 KiwiY software supports international companies via the internet and can be called on at any time for that work. It's primary connection is a copper Broadband contended service backed up by a secondary IProtecht-box on the premises connecting via a 3G mobile-carrier on a different network to the primary connection.
3 KiwiDC local council KiwiDC local council relies on 24/7 access for its staff and ratepayers to its centralised management and administration servers and it also supplies subsidised internet services to its local populace and visitors. Its primary connection is a 50Mbps fibre-optic service with uncontended CIR plus there is a secondary separate fibre-optic service held in reserve and connected by IProtecht auto-failover to a separate KCI network centre. Both fibre-optic paths do not touch each other until they get to the Southern Cross cable and even then the whole cable would have to fail to break the connection … which would of course break the connection to the outside world for all New Zealanders.
